In VLOG #8, I went over some of the basics on making your own stencils and masks to use in your artistic endeavors. For this post, I thought I would give you a short but sweet list on some of the everyday things you may have sitting around your house that are already to be used as a stencil or mask in your art without having to do any cutting, drawing, printing or pasting. Of course this list is endless but it should get you thinking about and looking at things you see and use everyday in a new artistic light.

.) Paper plate holders (I have seen all kinds of plastic plate holders with interesting patterns)

.) Lace doilies and table clothes (Super cheap at the thrift stores)

.) Lids (Awesome for simple circle masks.)

.) Kids Toys (think cut outs or pieces with interesting silhouettes.)

.) Strawberry baskets, fruit netting and containers

.) Old Tools (wrenches, pliers any of them with an interesting shape or profile)

.) Dried leave that have been pressed flat

.) Drain Covers or other hardware with slots and interesting shapes

.) Rocks and Pebbles

.) Rope, String and wire work great with spray paints

Hows that? Did my list get you thinking? What can you find or come up with to use and an inexpensive stencil or mask? If you got an idea you want to share I would dig hearing it so please leave a comment below.
